Hiba Academy Shanghai pupils soar to new heights on IGCSEs

The IGCSE exam results are out, and Hiba Academy Shanghai pupils once again performed admirably on this challenging series of examinations.

 Record-breaking 

A*/A percentages

85% of all grades were A*/A grades, a 10% increase from the previous year, demonstrating our pupils' consistent and robust academic abilities. 

 

43% of our pupils achieved all A*/A grades, and 76% scored A*/A in at least seven subjects, both improvements over the prior year.

 

Despite increasingly rigorous global grading standards and a significant increase in the number of exam takers, the A*/A percentage of Hiba pupils is higher than the average GCSE score of 48.4% in highly selective English private schools.

Holistic Education

In IGCSE Drama,100% of students achieved A*/A grades.

In Music, nearly 90% earned A*/A.

In PE, 80% achieved A* grades.

Excellence

in bilingual learning

Like the previous year, all pupils took the English as a First Language course.

74% achieved A*/A grades, and the number of pupils earning A* increased compared to the prior year.

Nearly 70% of pupils also selected the more challenging English Literature course, where the A*/A percentage was outstanding at 87%.

Moreover, in Chinese, the A*/A percentage was nearly 90%.

High achievements 

in STEM and social sciences

Hiba pupils also performed exceptionally well in mathematics and physics, with more than 93% achieving A and A* grades.

In chemistry and biology, nearly 80% earned A and A* grades.

100% earned A*-B grades in economics and history.

80% earned A*/A grades in global perspectives.

Such balanced and exceptional performance across such a wide variety of subjects further underscores the quality of teaching in our Secondary School. It also speaks of our pupils’ hard work and commitment.
